About the Writer
Ashleigh Gamboni-Diehl has always been interested in pursing a writing career. She received her BA in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley and intended to continue with a Ph.D., but while studying, she discovered the rewards of helping others when she became a Transfer Student Mentor for the university.
After graduation, Ashleigh decided to explore the possibility of becoming an educator and received her teaching credential from Fresno State University.
Shortly after becoming a teacher she was accepted into the Invitational Summer Writing Institute (UCMWP) at the University of California, Merced. There, Ashleigh became a Teacher Leader and now is the coordinator for the UCMWP K-2 writing group.
When Ashleigh is not writing and teaching, she enjoys reading and living a healthy lifestyle. She reads philosophy, especially the Stoics and Existentialists, and literature from the 19th and early 20th centuries. She stays healthy by eating a mostly vegetarian diet and practicing yoga.
